Following a dinnertime discussion I thought I'd put this question to the world. I personally think they are in the same vein as some of Yes' stuff from the early 90s and perhaps on the pop end of the spectrum but there are some who tell me I should "definitely" play them. I await your praise/wrath..probably wrath!

Andy Taylors solo stuff is definitely rock and very good.Ordinary World is a great track too!! I would play it you have played Belinda Carlisle in the past and we liked that!!!

yeah some of their later stuff was ok. Agreed Ordinary World was excellent; Wild Boys had a rocky feel as did The Reflex. Not sure stuff like Rio; Hungry Like The Wolf and Save A Prayer are going to go down well. Maybe Union Of The Snake you could just get away with but not New Moon On Monday. I hated them when they first came out but as I got older I began to enjoy some of their stuff - must be my age. But I also like Simple Minds (from the Once Upon A Time album onwards) and U2.

Seen Simple Minds live a few years ago really good!! yeah the early 80s stuff like Promised You A Miracle never really appealled to me but when I was played Once... by a mate of mine, I was impressed. And Live In The City Of Light has some amazing stuff - my fave being Book Of Brilliant Things - is it really almost 20yrs since that live album came out? I feel so old now ;D

I've got Live in the City of Light.......... I think I liked that song 'Don't You Forget About Me' or whatever it was called (I've forgotten LOL) Duran Duran - dunno if you can classify 'em as 'rock', but I like 'em! (sorry, I grew up in the 80s!!! ;D I like Spandau as well........ ) OMG I'm gonna get chucked off the board now..... ;D

. You'll be saying you like Japan and Flock Of Woolskulls next... No I don't *like* Japan but saw 'em live at the Marquee once (when it was the *proper* Marquee, in Wardour Street). I'd gone to see a band called Grand Hotel (OMG can't believe I remembered that! LOL) and Japan were supporting them. This was before Japan were in any way famous. They weren't particularly my cuppa char, so I was amazed when they got as big as they did Grand Hotel on the other hand, never got anywhere...........
